This phase is the culmination of our weeks of efforts! We are now ready to realise our design outcome and give it a final shape.
BRIEF: Detail and make the approved Final Design Outcome using appropriate media and/or materials.
PLANNING & PREPARATION
CREATING A SMALL PROTOTYPE
The first step I did was to create a small prototype of my final outcome. This way it would be easier for me identify the mistakes and resolve them at a smaller scale.
REALISATION:
Making a prototype helped me understand in what way should I join my outcome to make it look as if they are aesthetically integrated into the form.
TECHNICAL & DIMENSIONAL DRAWINGS:
Making technical drawings and dimensional drawings to understand the form and document it for future reference.
SIMULATION SKETCH:
This sketch shows my futuristic vision in terms of my outcome. In the future I visualise this form to present in the center of a circular park. The material used, inspired by the HAWA MAHAL in Jaipur, will be pink and red sandstone so as to bring a touch of my Rajasthani culture as well in it. Not only this, since the red sandstone when wet, gives a cool and calming vibe, there would also be sprinklers/fountains around this form to maintain that coolness.
The jali would be hexagonal in shape like those irregular hexagons which can be found in between the veins of the neem leaf. To further encourage the play of light and shadow there would be translucent green colored glass in places.

REVISED SIMULATION SKETCH:
My earlier sketch did not have 3 dimensionality and lacked perspective. Also in this sketch I have made the jalis as irregular hexagons and pentagons just like they are in the neem leaf and not perfect hexagons.

PROCESS OF MAKING
REVISED PROCESS:
CRITICAL COMMENTARY
The outcome was executed very precisely and neatly. However, due to my approach of making the form first and then adding details such as jali work made it very difficult to add the jali later. I realised that I should have made the jali first and then put the components together.

Since my material was paper, the only way to make jali that I could think of was by using an incense stick.
So when I tried that method, it did not work well and looked a little odd due to the black color of the smoke.
Due to this, I was afraid that if I continue with this my final form would be ruined so I could not incorporate the jali in my work.
This made me realize that I should not always take the detailing part as something which should always be done at the end, rather the details are the most important part of a form as they work as an embellishment.
I tried to at least show that play of light and shadow through jali even if it meant showing just one part of it so that I and even my audience could at least visualize it. But at the end it wasn't the same as it would have looked on the large scale model.

Using sunboard make window frames worked pretty well as they have a certain thickness and were able capture the essence window panels.
FINAL OUTCOME
REVISED FINAL OUTCOME:
In this I have added supporters to the form as my earlier form was against the law of gravity. I have also kept in mind the techno-aesthetic detailing while adding the supporters.
